Introduction – The Sound of Heaven Invading Earth

Recently, the Lord spoke the following to me:  “There’s a breakthrough coming down all around.”  This was after 3 years of hearing Him ask me, “Do you hear the sound coming down?”

Sound is an important element in God’s purposes, and is often associated with heaven invading earth.  In particular, the trumpet sound is often associated with the Lord breaking through to deliver His people. For example, 1 Timothy 4:16 describes the second coming of Christ in the following way:

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. (See also Nehemiah 4:20).

Sound and breakthrough go hand in hand.  The walls of Jericho – the first city to be taken on the way to the promised land – were broken through as a result of a sound (the shouts of victory).  (Joshua 6:20).  Numbers 4:20 associates the sound of the shofar (trumpet) with a call to battle and the Lord fighting for His people:  “Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us.”  Furthermore, Isaiah 30:32 describes the Lord’s vengeance on Israel’s Assyrian enemy in the context of sounds of praise:  “Every stroke the LORD lays on them with his punishing club will be to the music of timbrels and harps, as He fights them in battle with the blows of his arm (Isaiah 30:32).

Clearly, sound is significant in the heavenly realm.  It’s not something God ordains simply for pageantry.  No!  Sound releases power.  It releases substance    Sound is what created the world when the Lord said “Let there be light.”  Anointed sound causes heavenly substance to manifest as earthly substance, bringing change and calling forth those things which are not into being (Romans 4:17).  So when God releases a sound of breakthrough, He is releasing a manifestation of His power in the earthly realm that will literally change circumstances, move mountains, and release the will of His kingdom in the earth.

An Appointed Season of Breakthrough

2014 is unfolding as a “season of breakthrough, for those who have kept faith.”  In this regard, we are going to see shifts taking place in the natural realm, even things that could not have occurred apart from the supernatural grace of God.  On December 11, 2013 I had a vision that spoke of these things…

In my mind I saw something akin to the parting of the Red Sea, and I heard the Spirit say:  “There’s a shift.  Old things have passed away.”  I saw an angel, the angel that is bringing this shift.  As I watched the vision, a large body of water parted. The armies of God were on either side of the waters, and the angel was at the center, coming forward.

I could sense there was a ceremony happening.  The angel was bringing a crown on a pillow.  It was a presentation banquet.  I heard the Lord say, “Tell My church the banquet is ready.”  And the Spirit continued:  “The Lord is pouring the wine into glasses!”

The crown that was being brought forth was to be presented to the Lord.  It is a crown that has been reserved for this hour.   The Lord impressed on me the words, “holiness unto the Lord.”   In this regard, there are believers who, having been tested by fire, have been given this designation.  They are about to receive their portions to move with the Lord into this new season of the same name, “holiness unto the LORD.”

Deliverance Behind and Before

As I was writing these things down, the Lord brought to mind the account of Moses at the Red Sea.  What was highlighted to me from that is this:  it wasn’t Moses’ staff that parted the sea.  His gesture in the natural (holding out his staff) was a physical decree, saying:  “Now God is releasing His authority over this ocean and it is parting!”  But Moses’ faith in the natural was simply the key that released the Lord to do the very thing Moses was prophesying by faith.  More specifically, I believe Moses’ faith released angelic activity, and that a very large angel or perhaps simply “the angel of the Lord” came down and blew on the waters, causing them to recede.  (This, of course is similar to what I was seeing in the vision recorded above).

The Lord is once again releasing angelic activity to bring His people through the waters.  This deliverance will come like a double edged sword, for when the angel of the Lord fights for you, He will take care not only of what is before you, but what is behind you; He will cut off your enemy so he will not be able to pursue you!  This is what breakthrough from the King of Kings looks like!  Again, we see this demonstrated in the miracle of the Red Sea, at which time not only did God’s intervention open access to the land of Israel’s inheritance, but it also closed the door permanently upon their enemy;  the Lord cast Pharaoh and his horses into the sea “never to rise again” (Isaiah 43:17).  I believe we have entered into an appointed time “such as this!”

There’s an Angel at the Gate to the Sea!

Israel’s deliverance from Pharaoh also corresponded with breaking free from the spiritual force behind Pharaoh, that being Leviathan.  Scripture describes Leviathan as a monster of the sea (Job 41).  Both Pharaoh, ruler of Egypt, as well as Sennacherib – the wicked Assyrian king that arose in Hezekiah’s day, (Isaiah 36-37) can be seen as ‘types’ of this creature or spirit.

Scripture tells us that a mere man cannot take on Leviathan.  It must be the Lord who brings forth his downfall.  In this present season, Leviathan represents those things which have seemed insurmountable and immovable without God’s intervention.   I believe this spirit has also been associated with our personal “Red Seas,” keeping them insurmountable so we could not pass through into our destinies.  However, that is about to change!  Why?  Because once again, there is an angel at the gate to the sea!

The angel of the Lord has gone before us to part the waters and has overthrown the enemy’s armies.  Those things which have previously been unsurmountable are about to move for the Lord has stripped the strongman (Leviathan) of his armor; (Job 41:15-17), and the enemy’s spoils will be redeemed for the kingdom of God!  Hence, not only is the way opening for us to receive the blessings God has for us, but we will also receive “interest”  on what had previously been held back.  For just as Egypt gave Israel “tribute” when she left that land, the enemy’s spoils will be distributed to the righteous as payback!  As the word of God says, “The wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous!”  (Proverbs 13:22).

Get ready to be recompensed!  Get ready to break through!  It’s time for mountains to move.  I am literally seeing  mountains uprooted, turning over onto their backs, and falling into the sea!

The King’s Signet Ring

Those who are being poised to break through in this hour are like a signet ring upon the hand of the King of Kings!  As Haggai 2:23 states:

“‘On that day,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘I will take you, my servant Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will make you like my signet ring, for I have chosen you,’ declares the Lord Almighty.”

In ancient times, the King’s signet ring represented his authority.  The ring contained an emblem unique to the king and it could be dipped in hot wax and then used as a stamp to sign and seal official documents .  When a king gave his signet ring to another individual within his kingdom, it allowed that individual to make and enforce decrees in the king’s name.  One example of this is found in Genesis 41:42 when Pharaoh appointed Joseph second in command in all of Egypt:

Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his finger and put it on Joseph’s finger. He dressed him in robes of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.

In receiving Pharaoh’s signet ring, Joseph was receiving legal jurisdiction to administer justice and make decisions that would affect both Egypt, and the surrounding nations.  We all know the story of how Joseph’s position allowed him to open the storehouses of Egypt to feed the nations that came to him for help.  In this way, Egypt became an “open door” of blessing to the nations around it during a time famine.  In the same way, the saints of God are being positioned to open doors, and the spiritually hungry will receive bread from heaven.

Like Joseph, we are receiving a fresh impartation to decree in the Name of the King, and this is going to affect nations!  We will move in an authority that will allow us to speak to nations and see matters resolved on earth as in heaven.   Likewise, the Lord is releasing increased authority to possess the gates of our enemies.  I sense the Spirit saying the latter is necessary in order to make things ready for what is about to come.

The “Cyrus Anointing” And Open Doors

As discussed above, the “Josephs” and “Moses’” of this day are being given authority to open and close doors as they co-labor with the Lord.  In Isaiah 45:1-2 we find a prophecy about King Cyrus, who was also given an anointing to open doors.  The Lord confirmed to me that this is a word for those who will carry a breakthrough anointing at this time:

This is what the Lord says to his anointed,  to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of
to subdue nations before him  and to strip kings of their armor, to open doors before him
so that gates will not be shut:  I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze  and cut through bars of iron.

Even so, just as the Lord moved the mountain of impasse out of Israel’s way by opening “the gate to the sea”, so in this hour the Cyrus anointing will be reflected in doors opening for the righteous, even doors that were previously non-existent.  (Isaiah 26:2)  I believe these are doors of all kinds.  But specifically, I sense that in nations where the enemy has previously barred the way, the Lord is going to open doors for the Gospel of grace to go forth.  Let us speak to the nations to open that the King of glory might come in and have His harvest!

We can expect to see these things increase and accelerate throughout 2014 to 2016.  During this season many will be brought out of Egypt or their “prison years” and placed into position to go forth in their true callings.  Even so, as with the appointed hour in the lives of Moses, Joseph (and King Cyrus), this present hour of breakthrough is not simply about our personal release into the promises of God, but the release of His promises through us to bless the nations (Genesis 12:2).

I am hearing the Spirit say:  “This is your appointed hour Israel.  Get ready for a feast.  For the Lord says, the key that I have placed in your hands is not just for you but for the nations around you.  Blessed is the nation who keeps faith.”  (Note:  “Israel” In this context is referring to spiritual Israel – the Body of Christ).

Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter, the nation that keeps faith.  (Isaiah 26:2)

LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, LORD. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them.  (Habakkuk 3:2)

And again, I hear the Lord saying:  “You who are counting your losses, look up.  For your redemption draws nigh.”  I see the Lord descending and handing out candles to those who have sat down in passivity.   The candle represents His word which is a light.  He says, “Get up, and take My message to the nations.”

Urgent Prayer & Action: Final Verdict for Pastor Youcef: Death

Aimee Herd : Feb 22, 2012 : Lisa Daftari –

“The world needs to stand up and say that a man cannot be put to death because of his faith.” -J. Sekulow, ACLJ

(Iran) -According to a FOXNews report today, the final verdict has been handed down on Christian Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani’s fate-death.

Pastor Youcef and family

As Youcef’s supporters all around the world feared, the Iranian trial court has decided that he will be executed on the charges that he left Islam to convert to Christianity.

Pastor Youcef and familyThese charges have stood in spite of the fact that it could not be proven that the 34-year-old father of two had been a Muslim during his adult years, which would prove apostasy. In addition, Youcef himself has always maintained his innocence saying that he was always a Christian as an adult.

He was given the chance to recant his Christian faith, but he refused, and he also refused to say that Muhammad was a prophet.

Jordan Sekulow, executive director of The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), said, “The world needs to stand up and say that a man cannot be put to death because of his faith.

“This one case is not just about one execution. We have been able to expose the system instead of just letting one man disappear, like so many other Christians have in the past.”

According to the report, the final order was given just days after US Congress supported a resolution sponsored by Penn. Rep. Joseph Pitts, which denounced the charges and called for an “immediate release.”

“Iran has become more isolated because of their drive for nuclear weapons, and the fundamentalist government has stepped up persecution of religious minorities to deflect criticism,” Rep. Pitts told “The persecuted are their own citizens, whose only crime is practicing their faith.”

Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani’s family and supporters are asking for urgent prayer by Believers worldwide, on his behalf, and for people to contact their legislators to ask for intervention.

Marc Dupont: Three dangerous phenomena within the current prophetic movement

by Marc A. Dupont

I have had the opportunity of being involved with prophetic and apostolic ministry and  ministries internationally for close to 3 decades. I count myself the richer and wiser for this privilege of rubbing shoulders with many men and women who God has spoken through to the body of Christ in wonderful ways with wonderful messages of encouragement and exhortation.

Unfortunately, over the last decade, or so, I have also seen the current prophetic movement both become more extreme and, more extremely irrelevant to true Biblical Kingdom purposes. I believe there are three specific harmful phenomena that have emerged which are much in evidence today. They are:

1. A Phenomenal focus on self promotion
2. A Phenomenal lack of self accountability
3. A Phenomenal emphasis on phenomena, to the cost of de-emphasizing the Lord Jesus

Dangerous Territory

For the sake of not unduly loosing anyone too quickly, allow me to discuss the last point first. I have absolutely no problems with Holy Spirit caused, or induced, manifestations. Whether it is Holy Spirit induced laughter, weeping, shaking, or such things as gold dust appearing, or even gold teeth. My concern is rooted in the hunger for these things as opposed to hungering and thirsting for the person of God and His righteousness. As my friend Loren Sandford has written “In the church today there is a trend toward seeking ways and means to generate these experiences by our own initiative”

The danger of seeking after spiritual phenomena is really two fold: Firstly, it ends up becoming a downward spiral of de-emphasizing the Person and lordship of Christ in one’s life and ministry. Secondly, it opens the door for demonic deception in a huge way. The devil can, and will, appear as an angel of light if that’s what you’re hungering for. My fear regarding this current hunger for phenomena is summed up by the apostle Paul’s words found in 2 Corinthians 11.3: “I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.”

Ministries which continually emphasize extreme phenomena and revelation do so to their own, and others, destruction. There is absolutely nothing more extreme than the love, the compassion, the power, and the majesty of God Himself. The moment we begin to emphasize His gifts, or manifestations, more than He, Himself, we are headed down the same track of those carnally obsessed lost souls Paul spoke of in Romans. They chose to exchange the worship of creation for the worship of the Creator!

Until we have truly grasped and realized the height, the width, the depth, and the breadth of God’s love let’s not settle for focusing on anything less than that. If, as we journey with  God, He sovereignly causes phenomena to happen and releases paradigm shaking revelation then let’s grow in our sense of amazement and wonder of His goodness. But to digress from seeking Him and allowing Him to lead us and guide us as He sees fit is a demonic digression. What’s being built- the Kingdom of God, or the empires of man?

Earlier this year (I won’t say when, or where) I spoke at a conference with two other speakers. One of the speakers took one of the night sessions and spoke 3 hours and mentioned the Lord Jesus twice in passing. The Bible was never once referred to. His whole message, and his whole ministry I suspect, is all about… his ministry.

God wants to heal us of all woundedness, but there is such a thing as a Godly brokenness which David sang about in as a Godly brokenness which David sang about in Psalm 51.16 & 17:

“You do not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it; You are not pleased with burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise”. This ‘godly brokenness of David’s is evident in his prayer in Psalm 27: “One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD And to meditate in His temple.”

Jesus’ whole ministry on earth was to restore people to a vital relationship with the Father. (John 17.3). His protein, what nourished Him, was to do the will of the Father. He was so fixated on pleasing the Father He walked away when the crowd wanted to crown Him- it simply wasn’t the Father’s time. Too many ministries today, however, run to any opportunity at all of being crowned before men.

Speaking for myself, I love to tell testimonies of God healing, delivering, and revealing Himself to people. And I thoroughly enjoy the privilege of being able to be part of the process. But there is a huge difference between telling stories in such a way that glorify the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as opposed to glorifying me, myself, and I. Much of the self-promotion being done today on websites, book covers, and presentations is at the very least self aggrandizement and at worst demonic in that it, again, deemphasizes the wonder of Jesus. And what seems to be a bigger problem is the willingness of many Charismatics to chase after ministries that are preoccupied with themselves. After nearly
sixty years of the countless moral failings of supposed giants of faith with midget sized character the Charismatic and Pentecostal church is still hungering for the next hero. This speaks volumes of our lack of discernment due to a lack of experience with the real thing- Jesus. At the very least let’s take hold of Paul’s wisdom regarding reputation; “For it is not he who commends himself that is approved, but he whom the Lord commends.” (2 Cor. 10.18) Let’s live and breath for the commendation that comes from God. That  commendation is often far from the conference crowd.

Does Truth Matter?

Two presidencies ago (in the U.S) the president was caught in a very public lie regarding martial infidelity. At one point while being questioned he responded to a particular question with the question: “what does ‘is’ mean?”. Essentially, with one swell swoop, the truthful meaning of words was, to a large degree, thrown out the window. And while politicians have always been politic to the point of saying the right things to the right crowd, in today’s arena of public speaking, whether political, or otherwise, truth is now largely seen as negotiable. In a demonic Machiavellian manner the end justifies whatever means are utilized. This almost absolute disregard for truth has, in turn, infected some contemporary prophetic ministries. When I say prophetic ministry I am more speaking of the ministry of prophets as opposed to the ministry of prophetically gifted people in the local church. These are two very different ministries with two widely differing spheres of influence.

The first red flags I began to notice were back in 1998 and 1999. At that time it was quite fashionable, albeit, unanointed, to prophetically jump on the Y2K bandwagon. A lot of the ‘whose who’ in the prophetic arena prophesied that global economic destruction was going to take place as we entered the new millennium due to the computers not being able to handle the digital change. While I have certainly made my share of prophetic mistakes I heard the Lord say quite clearly that not only was the Y2K catastrophe not going to happen, but the false prophecies were actually going to derail many churches which were quite focused on prayer and outreach to their communities. To a certain degree this did happen. Many, many churches began to focus on the supposed inspired message to buy generators, store up food, water, and supplies and get ready. Well, the catastrophe never happened. And a lot of the church members who were part of those ‘get ready for the worst’ scenarios ended us very disillusioned with prophetic ministry. I saw first hand how the number of churches in North America, Europe, and the UK who were beginning to grow substantially in intimacy with God and seeking to know His voice began to view prophecy today with real skepticism.

As bad as all of that was, that in and of itself, was not the worst part of the problem. The big problem was the lack of accountability. Very few, indeed, of the big voices who had given the false words ever came back in a public way and said “sorry”. For the most part no one is expecting prophets to be perfectly accurate. The weight of New Covenant priesthood is for the hearer of a word to correctly weigh the word and see if it bears witness with his or her own discernment from the Holy Spirit, as well as ascertain the Biblicality of it. But to the level that God grants visibility accountability must be in evidence, or else the whole of the ministry comes into disrepute.

A friend of mine who pastors an influential church on the East Coast confronted one of the loudest voices of the Y2K message. When he asked for a mere public acknowledgement of being wrong that prophet responded “oh no, because we prophesied the warning the church prayed and the problem never happened”! The problem with her justification, however, was it was simply dead wrong. The prophecy had not been “if My people pray”. It had been “this will absolutely happen and God will use the chaos to birth revival”. Now 10 years down the road many so called prophetic ministries used this sort of ‘open ended’ theology as a loop hole for false prophecies. Any evidence of humility and authentic accountability has been thrown by the wayside.

The reality of this can be seen in the 2008 U.S. presidential elections when so many prophetic ministries cooked up wrong predictions as to who would win. And only a few of those I know of who falsely predicted the outcome have publicly acknowledged their mistake. In order for the body of Christ to take seriously a critically important God-given gift there must be accountability within the context of grace. Since many prophetic ministers head up their own ministries the weight is doubly on them to regard accountability as a context for the operation of the gift. Other wise the gift of God speaking will continue to be devalued in the church at large and those ministries will end up kings of ‘anointed entertainment’. There will be a degree of revelation and power but it will not have the true kingdom fruit God desires.

If we are going to represent the truth of Jesus, in truth, then that begins with our hearts and motives being focused and absorbed with the Truth, Himself. Let’s take heed of the prayer from the ‘man who shook the world’: “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.”
